Youngcare Case Study
Social and Economic Impact Dashboard

Youngcare is a leading Australian not-for-profit supporting young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities. To strengthen its advocacy, funding conversations and decision-making, the organisation needed a clearer way to demonstrate the social and economic impact of its services.
Evinact was engaged to bring together data from across Youngcare’s systems and develop an interactive Power BI dashboard that translated service outcomes into measurable evidence for internal and external stakeholders.
Data is power. It helps us tell the story, justify the story and have the evidence to back it up. We can go to a government agency or a corporate sponsor and say, ‘This is what your money is doing. This is the impact you are having.’ Having that information at our fingertips, which Evinact has helped us achieve, makes all the difference.
- Clare Stewart, YoungCare

Youngcare works to improve quality of life, independence and community participation for young people with complex physical disabilities, while advocating for better services and support.
However, data relating to funding, service delivery, donor activity, customer satisfaction and volunteering was held across multiple systems. This made it difficult to bring information together and demonstrate the broader social and economic value of Youngcare’s work.
The organisation faced challenges in:
- Communicating the full impact of its services to funders, government and other stakeholders
- Tracking key outcomes and cost savings to government
- Accessing timely information to support strategy and resource allocation
- Identifying service gaps and unmet community needs
- Providing clear evidence to support advocacy and funding conversations
Youngcare required a more connected view of its data that could turn service outcomes into a clear and credible picture of impact.
Evinact worked with Youngcare to design and develop a social and economic impact dashboard, beginning with stakeholder workshops to define key problem statements and identify the data required to answer them.
This included:
- Data cleaning and exploratory analysis across existing information sources
- Integration of data from Smarty Grants, Raiser’s Edge NXT, SurveyMonkey, Better Impact and Excel
- Development of an interactive Power BI dashboard
- Visualisation of measures including cost savings to government, quality of life, community participation and independence
- Configuration of data connections to support more timely reporting
The solution brought information from across Youngcare’s systems into a single reporting environment, giving the organisation a more accessible way to analyse and communicate its impact.
The engagement gave Youngcare a stronger evidence base for understanding, demonstrating and communicating the social and economic value of its work.
Evinact delivered:
- An interactive Power BI social and economic impact dashboard
- Integrated reporting across multiple organisational data sources
- Clearer visualisation of funding, service delivery and outcome measures
- More timely access to information for leadership and staff
This positioned Youngcare to:
- Make more evidence-based strategic and operational decisions
- Strengthen funding applications and advocacy with government and corporate partners
- Demonstrate the impact of its services with greater confidence
- Improve transparency for families, communities and other stakeholders
- Support ongoing service improvement and impact measurement
The dashboard provided Youngcare with a stronger foundation for using evidence to guide decisions, demonstrate value and advocate for better outcomes for young people with complex physical disabilities.
